Terry's radio journey began in the vibrant mid-eighties, and he quickly made waves, earning a prestigious Sony Radio Award in 1985 during his stint at BBC Radio Derby.
Fast forward to the late '80s, Terry joined Key103, where he played a pivotal role in showcasing groundbreaking acts like Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Inspiral Carpets, and 808 State. In 1990, he made headlines hosting Channel 4's The Word, a show that blended music and bizarre features with a distinctive northern attitude. The Friday night slot became a cultural phenomenon, introducing British TV audiences to iconic acts like Oasis, Nirvana, Snoop Dogg, Public Enemy, and Rage Against the Machine.
Beyond his radio and TV success, Terry has proven himself in the celebrity arena, securing the runner-up spot in Celebrity Big Brother's sixth series in 2009 and emerging victorious in Celebrity Mastermind in 2023.
