Man charged over Wigan stabbing

A man has been charged following a stabbing in Wigan town centre.

The charges relate to an incident on Market Street in Wigan on Thursday 18 July 2024, which saw a 19-year-old man received injuries that were not-life threatening after a stabbing.

Esmaeel Mohammed, 19,  of Avon Road, Wigan, has been charged with robbery, Section 18 wounding, burglary, affray, and possession of bladed article.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Saturday 20 July 2024.

A 30-year-old man who was also arrested at the scene has been bailed pending further investigations.
